(This is a sponsored post for Basic Invites. All opinions are my own).
I am a photographer and I have a professional photo lab that I use for all my printing.
One day, I ordered some Christmas cards for a client with specialty paper from my lab. When the cards arrived, the clients didn’t like the paper and wanted me to redo the cards. I did so, at my cost.
If I had known about Basic Invite, that whole situation would never have happened, and I would have saved myself a lot of money.
There are tons of online places you can order cards. Even though they have cute designs and layouts, they are lacking one HUGE thing: flexibility.
That’s where Basic Invite comes in. You can literally customize EVERYTHING. Whereas other companies may offer one or two different versions of the same card, with Basic Invite, you can change ALL the colors to exactly what you want. Let me demonstrate.
Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design, you can change the color of each element on the card so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. On the cards pictured above, I could pick everything from the colors of the flowers to the colors of the dots. Basic Invite offers over 180 colors to choose from.
Basic Invite has every type of card. Here are just a few: Birth Announcements, Graduation Announcements, Bar Mitzvah Invitations, Wedding Announcements and Invitations (with all kinds of other cool products like Save the Date Cards, Bridal Shower Invites, and even Guest Books!)
Here are some samples of more cool products they offer. I love these Wedding Mad Libs and Bridal Shower Games. (These products are PDFs that you can download and print at home).
Now if all this stuff weren’t cool enough, here is the kicker for me. Remember that problem I had with clients not liking the paper of all 500 of their cards and the boat load of money it cost me to replace them? Basic Invite lets you order JUST ONE of your invitations so you can see exactly what the colors will LOOK like and what the paper will FEEL like. I seriously know of no other company that lets you do this. All the labs I know require quantity printing. In other words, you have to order a minimum amount–usually at least 25.
The fact is, the colors from your screen rarely match the colors on the actual cards, no matter which company you use. This is because colors on computer screens are different from each other and can even change over time. When you are dealing with something as important as wedding invitations and birth announcements, you can’t afford to have your baby look blue and your fianceé look orange. You really need that sample card to make SURE everything will be perfect.
(By the way, Basic Invite offers five different types of papers, including my favorite, “Shimmer.” It’s kind of sparkly. That makes it really special!)
This is seriously the coolest, most unique card company I have seen.
If you want, you can hire a graphic designer to craft the perfect card for you. Or you can easily do it yourself with Basic Invite.
Try it out! You’re going to love it!
