Mom’s Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter margarine, shortening, or extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/3 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix butter, margarine, shortening or oil with sugar.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  4. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix well.
  5. Stir in the nuts and chocolate chips.
  6. Spread into a greased 9x11 pan.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes. Do not overbake! Cut bars while still warm.
