Easy Cheesesteak Sandwiches
Author: Melissa Howell
Ingredients
  • 1 lb. deli roast beef slices chopped
  • 2 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 small green bell pepper sliced thinly (or several banana peppers, sliced thinly)
  • 1/2 medium red onion sliced thinly
  • 2 medium mushrooms sliced thinly
  • 4 Hoagie buns or a loaf of French bread, sliced horizontally. (You may not need to use the whole loaf, depending on the size of the loaf).
  • Provolone mozzarella, or Swiss cheese
  • Garlic salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Open hoagie buns or French bread and sprinkle with garlic salt. Put cheese on both open surfaces of the bread. Put in the warm oven and toast until cheese is melted. Remove from the oven.
  3. While the bread is toasting, heat a large frying pan on the stove over medium heat. Add a little oil, then sautee the peppers, onions, and mushrooms until tender.
  4. Add the cream cheese and deli roast beef and stir until cream cheese is melted and distributed throughout.
  5. Spoon beef and vegetable mixture on top of toasted hoagie buns or bread. If using French bread, cut the bread into sandwich-sized pieces and serve.
