College Chocolate Chip Cookies
Author: Melissa Howell
Ingredients
  • 4 cubes of butter 2 cups, softened. Use the real stuff, please!
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips (or more, to taste)
Instructions
  1. Cream butter and sugars together.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Add two cups of the flour, along with the salt and baking soda. Mix well.
  4. Add the remaining four cups of flour and mix well.
  5. Add the chocolate chips and blend.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, place balls of dough two inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. (I prefer to use stoneware or baking mats).
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. You want the edges to just barely be browned, but the centers will still be soft. Note that it will take cookies longer to bake if you use stoneware--especially the first batch.
