Put the chunks into the blender of your choice, and blend the heck out of the pumpkin. Make sure there are no chunks when you are done. When my mom makes her own puree, she uses a potato masher instead of a blender, and her pumpkin pies always seem a little too nutritious with all the chunks of pumpkin in them. Pies should not be nutritious. “Pies” and “nutritious” are oxymorons.
Now pour this puree into a big bowl. Keep pureeing and pouring until your bowl is full.
