Were you told to “hold still” a lot as a child? Did you get easily distracted? Do you worry that people think you are irresponsible or immature? All of these things, which are put in a negative light, could actually be indicators of your greatest gifts!
In the Dressing Your Truth System (which I have explained in More Than a Makeover Part One and More Than a Makeover Part Two), all people have special innate gifts and talents which are manifested through their energy type. There are four energy types (which I discussed briefly in Part One). Today, I will discuss more in depth the characteristics of the Type One Woman.
The Type One Woman is naturally buoyant and light. She brings a bright energy and excitement to her interactions. She is often very expressive with her hands and facial expressions. Even her physical features exhibit a youthful, uplifting quality. As you can see in the example of the Type One woman above, she has dimples and an overall youthful, cute quality in her face. (Not all Type One women will have dimples, but most will appear younger than their age).
Two of my daughters are Type Ones. My oldest is very expressive and often flings her hands up in the air.
She also cycles through emotions very quickly. Freaking out one minute, then being excited the next. My youngest daughter has boundless energy and majors in silliness. She has the biggest, brightest smile along with large, round eyes. Both of them bring a needed energy and lightness to our family.
(I must note here that men also fall into each of the four types, but for our purposes, we are just talking about women and girls).
Type One Women have many gifts that are a blessing to all of us. Here are just a few of them:
- You bring a light, cheerful energy to any space you enter. Although you might not consider yourself “the life of the party,” you nevertheless have an uplifting presence.
- You are generally optimistic and don’t stay in bad moods for long.
- You are light-hearted and attract many people to you.
- You are full of ideas! Sometimes you have so many that you get overwhelmed or don’t know where to start. But what this really means is that you are brilliant, and with the right team of people, you can bring your ideas to life.
- You look for ways to have fun in everything you do.
- You easily love and accept people.
- You are open to new ideas and can adapt yourself well to many situations.
Type One Women sometimes have challenges with the following things:
- You might act without fully thinking through the consequences of a situation.
- Your lightness might be viewed as insincerity by others.
- Your method of accomplishing things may appear random and scattered.
- Because you are expected to be light and cheerful, you may bury pain instead of dealing with it in a healthy way.
Of course, these are only a short smattering of the gifts and challenges of the Type One Woman. Here are some other key words that might help you identify yourself as a Type One Woman.

Are You a Type One Woman?
I’d just like to note that nobody is 100% one type or the other. We all have elements of each of the four types in our natures. However, one type will be dominant. So even though all of the key words may not describe you, if many of them do, you are quite possibly a Type One Woman. If you want to be sure, there is a free online course you can take to find out.
I also highly recommend reading “It’s Just My Nature!“
Once you discover your type, there is a whole system of dressing that helps you express on the outside who you really are on the inside. You can read about this in More Than a Makeover Part One and More Than Makeover Part Two. I love this program because it has helped me know with certainty how to look great every single day! And when I look great, I feel great.
I also love Dressing Your Truth because it looks at the heart and mind of a woman rather than her outward appearance (skin, eye, hair color, etc.) to determine what will bring out her greatest, true beauty.
Dressing Your Truth used to be a paid program, but is now FREE! You go through an online video course where you learn about each of these things in detail, along with the types of jewelry and hairstyles that look best on you.
At the end of the video course, they show three makeovers of women for your type. They are amazing! I love to see the transformations of the women and how their outward appearance truly reflects and honors their innate gifts.
During the free online course, you have the option to purchase a style guide and pattern guide that you can take shopping with you. It shows samples of the colors that look great on you, and tells you what you should look for in design line, texture, fabrication, and pattern in your clothing.

It seems like the type one post didn’t have as much info as the other three types. Maybe you had specific reasons for doing that, but I would have liked to see the type one post in the same format so that it could be easily compared to the others.
Hi Codi! Thank you for your feedback. I think what happened is that the Type 1 post is split into three pages and the others are just one page. If you came over from Pinterest, somebody may have pinned an image from the last page and so you were brought straight to that page and not the first page. Here is a link to the first page for you. Then everything will be more clear! https://icecreaminspiration.com/are-you-a-type-one-woman/
Thank you so much for the link! Great post!
Not working! I cannot see the whole article đ The link gives the same article :(((
Sorry! I migh be a type one sice I jumped to react before I deeply studied and found out that somewhere there is a 1,2,3 meaning pages! Sorry again.
I was so convinced that I am a type 3 but the colour combinations seem horrid to me…to be onest, the only outfit I like is type 2 oufits. I feel like type 1 has the most in me but those pale colours of type 1 make me look washed out! It is about 2 months since I studied this sistem but I just can’t find my tipe…I am exhausted of trying to find myself…can you help?
Hi Marta! I’m sorry you are having such a hard time discovering your type! Know that you are not alone! For some people, it’s obvious right away. But for many, many others, it takes quite a while to figure it out! Have you taken the free online course? Have you read “It’s Just My Nature?” If not, I highly suggest doing those two things. If you’ve already done those things and still don’t know, write me back and I’ll see what else I can do to help!
Thank you so much for this, although I couldnât get past the headline of baking cookies at first; those sound yummy, I will go on to digress that yes I am a type 1 as displayed from my randomness about cookies. Note to self…must try that recipe. Anyhow, everything you said was so true! As a kid I was deemed as hyperâ and all the other little shortfalls. I recall writing in my diary as a young adult my longing to be more subtle, demure, not âwild, free, funny, etcâ. It would take almost 20 years later to discover that thereâs nothing at all wrong with me, I am who I am. Thatâs whatâs so beautiful about our true nature, it shines even when we try to disperse the light. And hun, if youâre meant to sparkle then sparkle. Who cares bout what other people think? Be the best version of you. I am now 42 but pass for 26-30. Smiles. Thatâs amazingly funny to me. To hear people tell me, â No way! Youâre in your 40s?â Fun.
I love your insights, Angela! Isn’t it so great to find out that we aren’t “broken” and we are who we are meant to be all along? I always wanted to be more wild, free, and funny when I was younger! But that’s not my nature, and I love knowing why my true talents and gifts are now!
Coming late to this party, but I think I am a type 1 woman as so many of the characteristics ring true for me. However, there is one drawback, and that is the word “cute”. I don’t want to be cute! I want to shine brightly, but also be taken seriously. Is this possible or would that be a contradiction? Great post, and I will definitely be reading more. Thank you.
Hi Liz! You’re not late to the party! The party is just getting started! And I have a Type 1 friend who is like you–she doesn’t want to be thought of as “cute” and wants people to take her seriously! And yes, it’s possible for a Type 1 to be taken seriously đ In fact, you’ll be taken more seriously when you dress your truth, because what you present to the world will be congruent with who you really are! Some Type 1s make the mistake of wearing black to appear more professional and serious. But this actually backfires because it highlights the contrast between your naturally upbeat nature and the more serious nature you’re trying to portray. It actually makes people take you less seriously. Embrace your Type 1 nature and shine!
