Mari Kondo (the author of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up) suggests doing something that I think will work for some people, but not for others. This is what she says:
- Take everything out of your purse every day.
- Then put all the contents of your purse in a box or drawer that you can easily access.
I believe this is helpful for people who change purses often. Instead of having to dig through your purse and pick and choose what you want to transfer, imagine how easy it would be just to put everything from your “purse box” into your other purse.
There are those of us, however, who use the same purse until it falls apart. For us, we should focus on taking better care of our purses so they will last longer. If you are like me, you walk in the door and unceremoniously drop your purse on the floor where it can be stepped on or gnawed on by the dog. Let’s not do this any more. Let’s find a nice shelf or hook for our purses.
This is what is in my purse now that I have cleaned it out. Much, much better!
